Ken Allen (BA Economics, Victoria University of Wellington, NZX Diploma) has a background in the financial services industry and the Non-for Profit sector. His community experience includes a Trustee position with Kaibosh Food Rescue, as a founding Trustee of the Newtown Ethical Lending Trust and as a current Trustee of the Newtown Community and Cultural Centre. He has also worked in the sporting sector in the area of volunteer management. He is a member of the Institute of Finance Professionals NZ (INFINZ) and is an Authorised Financial Advisor.

In his spare time, Ken umpires netball, coaches netball umpires, enjoys the beaches of Wellington and walks up the many landmark hills of Wellington to see what the view is like.

Ken was born in Wellington and outside his London-based OE has lived in Wellington all his life. He is married to Megan and is father to Jessie.

Ken was appointed to the Board of the Wellington Community Trust in July 2018 and chairs the Finance Committee. Ken sees the Wellington Community Trust as playing an increasingly important role in building stronger, healthier communities and the environment throughout the entire Wellington region through its grant funding programmes.
