We’re sad to announce that Wellington Community Fund’s Kaitakawaenga Māori – Whetū Campbell is leaving the organisation at the end of May.
Whetū joined WCF in October 2019, and has been pivotal in shaping and leading He Rau Aroha, our strategic granting programme focussed on supporting Māori-led initiatives that specifically serve and support mana whenua, taura here, and other Māori communities in the Wellington region.
Whetū’s work and leadership of this programme has led us to establish and strengthen relationships with over 50 Māori-led community organisations – representing all iwi in the region, as well as delivering over $1.7m in funding. During his time at WCF, Whetū has also added a vast amount of intangible value to the team and the culture of our organisation. We are sad to see Whetū go and thankful for the energy and the mahi he’s given us.
We are currently recruiting for a new Kaitakawaenga Māori; here is a link to the job advert.
Once again, we’d like to offer a huge thank you to Whetū. WCF wishes him all the best in his next chapter.
We look forward to introducing our new Kaitakawaenga Māori soon.
