Tēnā koutou katoa.
The Wellington Community Fund Board is delighted to announce that Sue McCabe is our new Chief Executive Officer. This follows a recruitment process that attracted a large number of very high calibre applicants.
Sue brings the leadership, skills, experiences, relationship focus and commitment to progress Wellington Community Fund’s vision of thriving communities across the Wellington region.
Sue is known to and highly respected by many of our stakeholders given her broad background spanning the philanthropic, community and voluntary sectors, and the public service.
Her current substantive position is Executive Officer of the Workforce Futures Fund | Tahua Rāngaimahi Anamata. She was the previous Chief Executive of Philanthropy New Zealand | Tōpūtanga Tuku Aroha o Aotearoa.
Sue says she is very much looking forward to building on the Fund’s existing strong relationships, progressing its regional impact through He Rau Aroha and the general grant programmes, and continuing our collaborations with other community trusts and the wider funding system.
We look forward to welcoming Sue into the role in early November, and thank Chiara LaRotonda (Community Engagement & Funding Manager) for capably acting as CEO in the interim period.
We also thank previous CEO Linn Araboglos for her leadership and significant strategic and operational achievements during her five year tenure. We wish her the best in her new role as Chief Executive of the J R McKenzie Trust.
Ngā mihi nui,
Ms Mele Wendt, MNZM
Chair, Wellington Community Fund
