Ming-chun Wu (MBA, BSc, BBus, BEd, BA) is a Chartered Director with the Institute of Directors with over 10 years’ experience in developing strategies and leading transformational changes to improve effectiveness and efficiency of organisations. She brings governance experience, community and voluntary sector involvement, and comprehensive knowledge of the public-sector.
Being social-minded, Ming-chun is the current Board Chairperson and Trustee for Volunteer Wellington, an organisation which connects and supports more than 380 community organisations with volunteer engagement, professional development, networking opportunities, support and mentoring services. She is also the current Vice-Governor on the Board of Directors for Altrusa International in New Zealand which is an international organisation dedicated to community service with 20 service clubs across New Zealand.
Ming-chun has held governance roles in professional organisations as well as advisory boards. She is an experienced secondary school teacher and have been on the National Executive and the Regional Chairperson for the New Zealand Post Primary Teachers’ Association (PPTA).
Ming-chun is a strategic thinker having led strategy formulation and policy development in large public sector organisations and held senior leadership roles at several social sector agencies including the Department of Conservation, Department of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Social Development, and the Ministry of Education.
